Duo of Naoki Kawamae, Shoji Sato strike at final of Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012
The Men’s doubles experts Naoki Kawamae and Shoji Sato of Japan played their master stroke at the final and sealed the crown in Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on March 18, 2012.
They defeated their opponents Fang Chieh Min-Lee Sheng Mu of Chinese Taipei with score board flashing final figures of 21-13 and 21-14.
The World Number 11 couple, who was also sixth seeded in the tournament, completely outclassed their rivals in all areas of game as they seized the victory just after two sets which lasted for 33 minutes.
The foundation was set from the opening game when Japanese unleashed their brisk attack and established an initial but crucial 1-0 lead. They did not give their rivals even a single chance to come into dominating position.
The Taipei shuttlers tried to accelerate their pace but they could not match the overall speed of their opponents and proved themselves lazy-bones to some extent. They lost first set with a notable deficit of 8 points and the Japanese stole the first segment
of the show with 21-13 final score on the board.
The World Number nine duo Fang Chieh Min-Lee Sheng Mu, who elevated its rankings to three steps last week, could not rise from the dust in the following set also.
The Men’s doubles combination of Naoki Kawamae and Shoji Sato worked splendidly and raised its lead to decisive 2-0 match score position.
The champs swung arms and stretched legs to full to stay invincible in the tournament. They were aggressive in their game plan but still they did not forget the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
The victorious duo Naoki Kawamae-Shoji Sato registered a significant margin of 21-14 to claim the crown in Men’s doubles event of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012.
Meanwhile, the final day was a mixed day in terms of results as China emerged as Champion in Men’s singles and Women’s doubles events while Women’s singles finalist Saina Nehwal from India sealed the glory for her country before the Indonesian team seized
