Duration of tyvek house warp?

how long does it last before its effectiveness is lost. compare to tar paper

It's plastic and protected from the elements, it should last forever.

But check their web site, I don't know the actual material used.

If you get it sealed up behind the siding and protected from the elements it will last forever.  There is a paper that comes with it that says not to expose it to sunlight for more than a month or two during construction to prevent it from deteriorating.
