I hare to tell you this but............

Living in Toronto and trying to attend Durham College, without a car,  is a really hard thing to do.

Why ?

Distance. At least  35 miles one way. No direct connection by bus. A convoluted and expensive trip by Toronto  bus and commuter train, with a limited schedule and NO TRAINS after 6 pm.

Solution?

Live in  Oshawa. Local bus to  the college. 20 minutes tops for a trip , one way. Oshawa has lots of affordable rental apartments, and the college may also have dorm room  rentals.

take the subway to union station

take the lakeshore east go train to oshawa

take a go bus (not sure what one, ask at union station before you leave) and you will get to durham.
