  1. i lived in durham breifly...crime was non-existant and I got a one bedroom apt with all amenities for 500 a month.  It was beautiful also...big rooms nice outdoor space for grilling...well kept premises and on site laundry...walk to grocery and blockbuster among other stores...they had public transportation that came in the complex and the mall was a 5 minute bus ride away.  I was 7 minutes from Duke University.

  2. i live in Raleigh, NC..Durham is not far from here..personally i wouldnt live there..there are some good parts in Durham but there s a lot of trouble and gangs there all the time..just this past week there were 2 drive by shootings, one in which a 16 year old girl was grazed by a bullet in her head...i wouldnt live there...i would suggest Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Garner...area...

not sure how soon u are going to move but i've included links to the local newspapers and some tv news stations u can check out

  3. i live in va and my mom lives in durham. where she stays is not bad, but i know there is a high crime rate in some areas. some higher than others. now that i think about it, i think at one point, durham had the highest crime rate in nc. i would shoot for a surrounding area.
