Durham take a five-wicket victory over Lancashire: County Championship Division One - Second Innings Recap
It was hard for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 to bounce back in the match of the County Championship Division One against Durham, at the Aigburth, Liverpool in England.
The hosts were bowled out for just 84 runs on the first day’s play on Monday, June 27, 2011. None of their batsmen managed to bat with responsibility and wickets kept on falling at regular intervals.
However, the playing conditions were still difficult for the batsmen, as there was enough moisture beneath the surface of the wicket to cause a few problems.
Durham’s batsmen didn’t have a very good outing as well, but they still managed a better performance compared to the hosts. They scored 186 runs in their first innings, which gave them an overall lead of 102 runs.
The start of the innings for the visitors was South Africa’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-Benkenstein-c1302, who scored a magnificent half-century and remained unbeaten until the end.
The start to the visitors’ innings was not an ideal one at all, as they lost a couple of wickets early. The first man to be dismissed was opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Will-Smith-c2794, who had to take a long walk back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers.

total.

who got out for a first-ball duck.
