Jan Durica believes that his side can end their unsuccessful run in the Russian Premier League by winning the next match and has commented on their Russian Cup tie
Lokomotiv Moscow defender, Jan Durica, has urged his side to win the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against Amkar Perm at Lokomotiv stadium on Friday if they are to get back on track after a series of disappointing league
results.
The Moscow-based club fell victim to Kuban Krasnodar before drawing two league meetings against the defending league champions, Zenit St. Petersburg, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Rostov-c39192 respectively. As things stand, they are at the 5th spot
on the league table.
The fact that the Railroaders are not involved in the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League gives Durica
a reason to cheer, who believes that their absence from the tournament is a blessing in disguise.
Durica, who joined the Russian outfit from Saturn Moscow Oblast back in 2009, is of the belief that the Yellow-greens have a fantastic chance to concentrate on their league standings as they are not participating on the European
front this time around.
The Moscow-based club are not involved in any of the European tournament this season after finishing 7th last season despite starting the league campaign on a high last term.
“We have been experiencing problems both offensively and defensively. We have failed to score from the last two games which is really alarming. It was very disappointing to lose points in matches against Kuban and Rostov but I
think there is no reason to get depressed. I think we would have won the matches had we taken all our chances. Hopefully in the game against Amkar we will turn the tables.”
“Amkar is an awkward opponent. They are known for playing on the counterattack. I think an early goal might help us.” The Slovakian International was quoted as saying.
Commenting on Lokomotiv’s Russian cup tie against Terek Grozny next month, Durica urged his teammates to work harder for the forthcoming cup tie. The 30-year-old assured the fans of putting maximum effort to win the match.
