  1. Yes you can but it's only counts toward your hours if you are supervised by the person that is training you. I massage for donations. Some people give me lots of money and some people don't, but be careful who you massage this way. Good luck and best wishes!


  2. You can massage people for free during an internship but you can't charge for massages until you have your license.

    When I was in massage school, I massaged friends and did some volunteer work to get my name out there. Even though you're not licensed yet, you need to start building contacts. These contacts can add to your client base once you get your licensed.

    I'd also suggest that you look into starting a website to promote yourself. Being a massage therapist also means being a business person. You have to learn the ends and outs of running a small business.

    You can get some good books about running a small business and writing a business plan. Check out your local chamber of commerce too. They usually have a lot of resources for small business people.
