  1. Well, all I know, is that when you need to put your utensils down, and your not done, then you place them across the top of the plate.

  2. Different cultures have different standards. In general, the salad fork, knife and soup spoon are placed further from the main plate than the main course knife, fork and spoon. Dessert utensils will be placed above the main plate or served with dessert.

The fork is picked up by the left hand and the knife/spoon by the right hand.

If you're not yet finished with your food and just resting, leave the fork on the plate at an 8 o'clock position and the knife at a 4 o'clock position.

Once finished with your meal, place cutlery together at a 6 o'clock postion on the plate so that the waiter knows you have finished. In the UK, It is considered rude to s***w up your napkin into a ball and onto the plate. Instead, place the used napkin on the table to the left of the plate.

    Enjoy your meal!! :)

  3. well you would just put them like you normally do like at home! that's what i do!
