  1. Do you have a basement? If you do most definitely go there! If the bathroom is the lowest place you can go there. Put the littlest kids farther away from the door and work your way up so the adults are more closer to the door. Go in the bathroom with a mattress to put over yourselves. And shutting the door might also be a good idea. And have everybody go in the tornado position.

  2. If you can get out in time, go to a ditch and lay in it. If you can't get out in time and you have a porcelain bathtub, lay in it dad on top, sorry dad, you have to protect your family.

  3. I grew up in Nebraska (Tornado Alley), and have been through more than one tornado in real life! Without getting religious, I'll just say I was lucky. I just moved out of Florida and really the greatest chance for a tornado is during a hurricane. In that situation, you have other worries. Either way, every "expert" will tell you to get to the center of your structure (house) and get as low as possible. Protect your head from flying debris. If it's during a hurricane though, that advise can cause other problems.

  4. Depends on how well built the house is ? Best place is below ground level .

  5. Yes just make sure you get blankets and pillows to put over your head.
