  1. It depends. Sometimes, based on earthquake intensity, it\s best to be outsite clinging onto a tree for dear life, but in other instances, you should be under the kitchen tables to avoid falling objects.

This question is unanswerable, but if you're asking because you actually want to know, the news and radio will tell you where is safest.

Ultimately, being as far away from the earthquake is probably safest.

But I was in a diner once, and a medium size earthquake took place, and I was just in my seat frightened to death, but I was fine. I probably should have gotten under the table though.

  2. It is better being outside away from bulidings no matter if they are tall or not. If you are inside your home things could come crashing on you like the walls of your home, bookshelves, refigerators, etc. When you are outside during an earthquake you should also stay away from telephone polls, or anything that is a danger. Here are some tips on what to do during an earthquake.

Tips on what to do if indoors during an earthquake:

    1.  DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON on until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.

    2. Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall, such as lighting fixtures or furniture.

    3. Stay in bed if you are there when the earthquake strikes. Hold on and protect your head with a pillow, unless you are under a heavy light fixture that could fall. In that case, move to the nearest safe place.

    4. Use a doorway for shelter only if it is in close proximity to you and if you know it is a strongly supported, loadbearing doorway

    5. Stay inside until shaking stops and it is safe to go outside. Research has shown that most injuries occur when people inside buildings attempt to move to a different location inside the building or try to leave.

    6. Be aware that the electricity may go out or the sprinkler systems or fire alarms may turn on.

    7. DO NOT use elevators

Tips on what to do if outdoors during an earthquake:

    1. Stay there

    2. Move away from buildings, streetlights, and utility wires.

    3. Once in the open, stay there until the shaking stops. The greatest danger exists directly outside buildings, at exits, and alongside exterior walls. Many of the 120 fatalities from the 1933 Long Beach earthquake occurred when people ran outside of buildings only to be killed by falling debris from collapsing walls. Ground movement during an earthquake is seldom the direct cause of death or injury. Most earthquake-related casualties result from collapsing walls, flying glass, and falling objects.

Tips on what to do if in a moving vehicle:

    1. Stop as quickly as safety permits and stay in the vehicle. Avoid stopping near or under buildings, trees, overpasses, and utility wires.

    2. Proceed cautiously once the earthquake has stopped. Avoid roads, bridges, or ramps that might have been damaged by the earthquake.

Hope I helped you learn some earthquake safety tips!!!

  3. i would say inside...but some say outside as well...its really depends on where you live though

  4. outside is better.. if your inside, you run the risk of having the building collapse on you.

  5. Go into a closet because their isn't that much stuff that can fall on you.

  6. If you are inside during a quake, stay inside.  Most injuries occur when people walk/run to a safer place, and most people think a safer place is outdoors.  If you are outside, it is safer to find a clear area with no, buildings, utility or light poles, homes, trees, etc.

  7. outside in an open field

  8. well ... outside because house can fall on you!

  9. neither...

if your outside the trees will kill you and other thing outside

and in the inside... the roof will kill you...

i probably will prefer the outside of the car...

is this the CA your talking about???

    i live there

it wuzz scary fo me =[

  10. depends where you are if you in a big city stay in if your in the suburbs go out .

  11. the important thing to consider here is that you don't want anything to fall on top of you. If you live in NYC and you're outside, you probably have 894732804 things that can fall on top of you. Now, if you're a farmer with lots of land and nothing around, outside should be fine.

Anyhow, most times during an earthquake you don;t have time to go outside. Best bet is to crouch by a corner with your hands covering your face and under a table or something.

check out my source, it's very helpful.

  12. I think it depends on how close you are to an exit way of your house.  When the earthquake happened I stayed in my room and stood in between the doorway.  It is safer than trying to run outside while the earth is shaking.  My mom on the other hand ran outside because she was in the living room which connected to the front door.  If you are far from the exit and try to run out and it is a long earthquake then you might have a higher chance of getting hurt.  Hope this helped and don't panic in an earthquake.

  13. it depends on if you're outside in the city or in the country.  If you're in the city, you're better off inside under a doorway.  If you're in the country, it's safer to be outside away from high things that might fall on you.

Basically you just have to consider your environment and be away from stuff that might fall on your head :o)

  14. Outside, away from buildings a much as possible.

  15. if your inside and by nothing that can fall or hurt you it's pretty safe. but still if your house caves in or slides your in trouble. but in the country where theres nothing around i think it's not a problem. in a city theres always a chance of something falling.
