  1. The animals are safe.

The zoo moves vulnerable animals to other zoos, according to a pre-arranged plan that was also used during Katrina.  The SPCA evacuates its animals to other shelters (ditto in Katrina).

  2. I was watching the news yesterday and the shelters were loading up the animals in pet carriers.  I don't know where they go though.
