Do you still keep your windows open, or do you shut them to trap cool air inside? I always shut them but I see my neighbors keeping them open all day and it bugs me.

  1. I used to live in apartment building that was painted dark brown. My apartment faced southwest and had few windows. As soon as the sun hit it in Summer, it got retarded hot inside, so we always kept the windows open and fans circulating air through them.

It all depends on the particular physics of the building - whether cool air can be trapped inside, or not.

(Later we realized that the business we lived upstairs from had their A/C CRANKED. We soon closed the windows and moved the fans to pull cold air up from downstairs. That was a good Summer...)

  2. i close them and turn on my fans cuz if you leave the windows open, youre just bringing the heat in. so theyre kinda dumb lol

  3. Depends on if my house gets hot. Why shut my windows and pay more money if I don't have to. :)

  4. Where I live 80 degrees is considered very cool, so we would leave windows open all the time as long as it didn't get too much warmer.

  5. I shut the windows if it's 65 degrees or higher. I open them when temps are between 50 and 65 degres outside. I use the AC once temps get above 70
