How close to the cross rails do you get before you get into your two point? I seem to never time it right and therefore, I end up just posting trot over the cross rails.

  1. If you are a begginer then get in 2 point about 2 or 3 steps before the jump. As you become more advanced then you will just feel when its time to go.!

    LUV YA!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. if you come in a half seat

your bum just barley touches the saddle as you come up then go into 2 point as the horse natural folds you as the jump.

  3. It depends on your level.  Technically, you are supposed to go into two point as your horse is lifting up his front feet to go over the jump.  However, beginners usually go into two point a few steps before the jump because timing is, as you said, hard.  You will get it eventually, but you will have to practice a lot since you don't have much time to think about it - it needs to be automatic; you feel it and you do it.  When I first started learning two point, I two pointed (is that a word??) all the way around the arena just to get the feel of being a bit out of the saddle.  The best advice I can give you is to practice, practice, practice and feel your horse

  4. We have the beginners get in 2-point like 2 steps before the jump. As you progress, you will learn to feel when the horse is going to leave the ground and you can adjust your timing so that you are getting in 2 point as the horse leaves the ground. Good luck, and have fun!

  5. its ok do to 2 point before bu dont get ahead of the horse cuz what if he stops so be careful
