Question

i went to base and smelt some heat, than we took the batteries out of both the att2256's and replugged them, but the led display still says searching with no dial tone..the problem of course is with the phone. I want to know how to really actaully manually fix the inside of the base or phones...i assume its the base. if you know how to tell me that would be so great.. thank you so much.
