  1. what ever you like. put somthing in you mouth if you dont like it dont eat it. you'll find somthig tasty, we all have

  2. If you are not making the preparation itself, just feast on the vegetarian side dishes..Or bring a vegetarian side dish for everybody to enjoy. It's just one day, in fact just one meal out of the whole year and it's not like you will starve. Besides, thanksgiving should really be more about the company you will share it with, not the food itself.

  3. Wish that you weren't.

  4. If you make an exception you're not a true vegetarian. I struggle myself to become one, not easy at all. So don't ruin what you've done till now, is hard to recover...

P.S. You won't miss a thing... except a fat, genetic modified,  unhealthy turkey...

  5. im a vegetarian. i became one it 4th grade. i wasn't big on thanksgiving meats to begin with but there are lots of things you can still have. i didn't used to eat much meat anyway but now i continue to stick with fruits, vegetables, and mashed potatoes on thanksgiving. you can still have a feast because thanksgiving offers all kinds of variety.

if you want some meat try vegetarian meat made with soy. i recomment morningstar for the best brand.

i hope i helped. good luck.

  6. Bring tofu.

  7. Get as a balanced a meal as you can from whatever nonmeat food is offered.  Maybe bring a bean casserole or other high-protein veggie dish to the party.  If it's at your house then cook up a beautiful veggie storm.  Don't poison yourself and betray your principles.

    Bon appetit!

  8. Well, if you are 100% comitted to the vegetarian lifestyle, one holiday would not be enough to compromise your decision to be veg.

That said, I think that you can pretty much eat whatever you'd like on Thanksgiving. You can always eat the side dishes if you'd like. Or you can make an awesome meatless casserole that is hearty (like turkey) but is cruelty-free.

Over the past few years, I've been having some issues with the actual Thanksgiving holiday. As Americans, we come together and have an excuse to gorge ourselves on food while there are folks in the world who don't see as much food in our ONE meal in an entire year. That makes me really sad, so I try to eat in moderation on that day.

I digress. If you'd like, you can always break tradition and have different foods for Thanksgiving - like Tex Mex food, Asian food, or you could even have a BBQ! Do what you think is right...but if you're veg, don't be pressured into eating turkey just b/c everone else is.

    Cheers!

  9. I have been through 10 Thanksgivings as a vegetarian, and I always eat with non-veggies.  Other than turkey, everything can be made vegetarian.  Green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, candied yams (I use marshmallow fluff instead of marshmallows), cranberry sauce, pie... There's plenty to eat besides the turkey.

  10. Maybe just go lacto-ovo for the day? Go ahead and eat things with milk in them, but dont eat the actual turkey.

  11. MAshed potatoes, stuffing, punkin pie

  12. What I do is pile my plate with everything that doesnt have meat and hope that my grandparents (who totally dont understand why im a vegetarian) dont notice that I havent eaten any turkey. And compliment what you do eat so they dont feel offended. If you really want to be authentic and have turkey they make tofurkey, but I have never really been a fan of it. You can still enjoy the yams, corn, potatoes and pumpkin pie!

  13. tofurkey!  my friend said it was delicious.

  14. tofurkeyyyy.

    sooooo good

    :)

I was about to say some other food cuz im a lacto ovo vegitarian

BUT ur lactose intolrerantt soo it wouldn't work

don't worry, you'll figure something outt

    good luck!

  15. tofurkey and anything else without meat!!!!

  16. Most omnivores I know don't just eat turkey..there are a lot of other dishes served aren't there?  I make vegetarian stuffing using veggie stock, roasted sweet potatoes, green beans, salad etc.  That's more than enough to eat.

  17. Corn

  18. You will certainly enjoy yourself more if you "slip" that day. You can confess your sins the next day. But on Thanksgiving it would be sad to sit there watching everyone else enjoying that mouth-watering turkey while you make do on just yams.

  19. Why even bother serving turkey in the first place?  Cook up some other dishes and serve them instead.  If you're going to a family member's house, bring something with you that you can eat and everyone else can as well and let that be your main dish.

    Some examples:

    Mashed potatoes

    Sautéed  mushrooms

    Eggplant

    Stuffed tofu

    Stuffed peppers

    Stuffed tomatoes

"Fake" macaroni and cheese (if you're vegan)

    Portabella "steaks"

    This list can be endless...
