I vaguely remember reading somewhere that girls named Sarah were often called Sallie instead. Can anyone confirm this?

  2. Absolutely... probably one of the most common nicknames.

  3. Yes. I've got one on the line who lived 1803 to 1843, and documents refer to her by both names.

I was concerned at first, but soon realized what the game was regarding this name. It's legit.

  4. I had a great grandmother named Sarah and she was called Sallie.  She was born in the 1850s.

  5. It seems that way. I've found several relatives named Sarah that were called Sallie by their families.
