  1. Yes - great question.  I lived through those days, and I remember our bombs in Turkey being discussed.  Kennedy did remove missiles from Turkey in exchange for the ones the Russians pulled out of Cuba.  But the ones we removed from Turkey were obsolete (or so we said).

It's hard to know if anything that went on in those scary days was true.  Could be the whole thing was a lie to scare Americans into hating and fearing the Soviets more so we'd spend more money on bombs.

That's what all this scare and war is about - money.  Ultimately you got to get the Americans willing to PAY big for "protection".

  2. Who ever claimed it was ok? The answer is because they could.

  3. Because of the policy of the United States not to allow nations outside the Western Hemisphere to control or occupy nations in the western hemisphere. Read about the Monroe Doctrine.

  4. Once that issue was resolved, the missile crisis was resolved.

  5. Because the US has appointed itself the World's Policeman.  They think they should have nuclear weapons and give them to Israel, or which ever country the US deems worthy.

Other nations need nuclear weapons to protect themselves from the US who only invades nations (Iraq) who are unable to defend themselves.
