During the Rugby World Cup games there has been a horn which sounds and the crowd responds with an 'OLE!'?

yeah i heard it many times i think it sounds Arabic.

I  enjoy it when the crowd responds it makes some good entertainment.

it's a french thing.

they do it at rugby matches, football matches, at both professional and amateur level.

it's just like when we english go 'de.de.de-de-de.de-de.de-de ENGLAND!' or somthing :)

Good question, I like the horn and the OLE. It would probably require some research or hopefully some french fans in here might have an idea.

I might be wrong....  I am just making a guess and giving my opinion here but:

It might have a spanish influence from bullfighting. I think that the crowds in the bullfighting in spain do something similar and this is where it originated.

Not sure though so somebody prove me wrong if I'm way off.
