During the Suez conflict I have heard that the IAF sent to waves of aircraft to attack HMS Crane. They attempted to rocket, cannon and napalm her and her crew. Both waves were beaten off by AA fire which downed an IAF Mystere aircraft. Does anyone have any more information on these events or know where I can find out more ? On top of that would it have been considered a " friendly " fire incident?

  1. there was nothing accidental about the attack on the HMS crane..the isrealis also treacherously attacked the USS Liberty for no reason in the same time frame, strafing the defenseless crew in the water ,even tho she was clearly a US ship and in international waters..they later also tried to claim they mistook her for an egyptian ship, which looks nothing like either of the foriegn shipd they attacked...look up USS Liberty in your search engine, and HMS Crane and its very clear it was no accident either time.

  2. From what I can understand it was an accident, during the Suez crisis the Israelis always expected the Egyptians to to attack Israel.
