During the gold medal beach volleyball match?

During the match last night, I couldn't help but notice that it looked like Misty and Kerri were wearing something beneath their bikini bottoms. Through the mesh on the sides I thought I could see like an orange thong string. Do you they wear thongs underneath their bikinis? and why?

Probably during the rain. Otherwise it would have been like a Wet- T-shirt contest and though most men would have loved it, it would have made even more a mockery of our sport.

Since their outfits are so skimpy to start with I would imagine they would wear something in case they lose their bottoms diving for the ball in all that sand, also for the extra padding for their butt.

I don't think it was a thong...I would have picked it up on the HD picture.

Anyway...with all the diving and digging that they do, never once did a t-bar come slipping out from underneath. It must of been something else...maybe a tie string for the bikini itself?

I'm guessing that it's just extra "piece of mind" in case of a wardrobe malfunction.
