Do they verify all info such as school you attended? How do they do that since you just submit all the docs during the interview...And my friend who was applying b1/b2 visa got denied. and her docs were not even checked...why do they do that?

  1. They will rarely check your documents for authenticity, unless they point to a fraud ring.  Some documents of course are obviously false, and no one bothers about that; you will just be refused, with a note on your application.

The major question for a visa officer is whether your appearance, manner of speech and appearance seem to agree with the documents you present.  Barring other faults, the major reason for denial of a B2 visa is that you have not convinced the interviewing officer that you do not intend to stay in the US.

  2. yes, to check the authenticity of the papers that you have submitted to them, plus the facts that you said in the interview.

  3. It depends on the whole case whether or not we will check your references.  And as for your friend, we do not issue visas to documents, but to people.  If the consul is not convinced by your manner and by your answers to questions that you will return home after a short visit to the US, there is no piece of paper in the world that will make any difference.

  4. In a lot of places documents are not worth the paper they are printed on.  I lived in the Philippines for almost 7 years.  You can buy any kind of phony document in Manila.  The US embassy knows this.
