During the ivf process, Why would you take a pepsid?

my egg retrieval part is to be done tomorrow. i got a message on the phone saying i should take 20mg today and tomorrow (with very little water). i would ask them, but i don't feel like calling back.

  Could be just to help keep your stomach settled for when you have the anesthesia. I know on one of my egg donations they gave it to me as well
