During thunder, could it cause deafness?

We're having a thunderstorm as I type and I feel a bit deaf

is it possible its caused by the thunder? Im just curious cause as soon as the thunderstorm happened i went a little deaf

  1. I think it's the air pressure during a strom. Stroms are characterised by low air pressure, and if it drops low enough you'll get the same effect as going up on a plane - it messes with your ears.

    I've heard that inside a tornado you can't hear a thing, the air pressure there is that low.
