  1. Restaurants are busy mainly during Lunch hours (11:00am - 2:00pm) and Dinner hours (6:00pm - 8:00pm).

  2. proboaly 5 to 7 or 8(pm)

  3. As RJ said, it varies. Some of those restaurants are all-night, but quite obviously most people come in the day. Generally, on the weekends or on holidays like Mother's Day, restaurants tend to be fuller when people go out for dinner or dates. (Note: Birthday parties and meetings can vary, with most on weekends when children are out of school, but you must consider an all-adult corporation or a 35-year-old's birthday.) Summertime throws a major monkey wrench in my answer, as children are out of school and parents find a time to get a nice dinner at the local restaurant or fish-'n-chips. However, restaurants differ on style; fast food joints and cafes are visited all through the day, while formal "dinner sites" are visited at--you guessed it--dinnertime, around six o' clock to nine or for fancy luncheons or meetings. Ice cream parlors, coffeehouses, and corner-street snack-sellers aren't visited by large droves very often, and are usually part of a mall, shopping centers, or just a place someone runs for the heck of it!

  4. during lunch. 11:30-1pm and late dinner 8:30 to 11

  5. I work at an up-scale restaurant where we take reservations from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The most sought after times are 7:00 and 7:30.

  6. It depends on where you work.

At the my job (mexican restaurant) it gets busy between 11:30-2 and 5-8.  We don't serve breakfast.  These are pretty typical times for restaurants to be busy.
