  1. It is known fact that almost all airplane accidents happen within few miles of the airport.  That is where the airspace is most crowded.

    Good Luck.

  2. geeral aviation accidents occur at phase of climbing and descent dear..

they looses control and emergency landing required.

they colide in air as they get in front of most times.

after tht the most is landing time...having any failure in landing system most common snag.

third is takeoff...due to snag in engine or aeroplane...they cant mostly roll out of runway

  3. Unfortunately, taking off or landing.

  4. Takeoff or landing, it adds one of the serious threats - birds strike.  Aircraft hitting other aircraft on the ground or in flight are pretty rare.  On landing tires blow out and that cause some problems as well.  Birds can be ingested into an aircraft's engine and cause an engine failure.

  5. Some 40% of accidents happen on Descent and landing. Another 20% during taxi and takeoff.

  6. Take off and landing

  7. I would have to go with, ....Landing

  8. Take off and mid air

  9. takeoff or landing

  10. Landing.

    DUH

  11. Well during takeoff is when most mechanical problems occur and during landing accidents are caused by pilot error

  12. Take off is when mechanical failures are the most common. Landing is when the failure is more often the pilots error.

  13. Landing is the riskiest part. During landing the pilot is the most alert, has the highest amount of work load and most nervous. Its the most skilled part of flying. A bad landing could have happened 30 minutes before the flight ever lands because the pilot misinterpreted a checklist, atc directions or other things.

  14. As a former pilot, I can tell you it is just after the beverage service starts.

Many flight attendants are the cause of aviation accidents because they are fed up with rude passengers and take their frustrations out on pilots in the cockpit.  Have you ever taken a can of V8 Juice to the back of the head and then tried to land at Dulles International Airport?

  15. Take off and landing of course. Pilots do run through most of the initil checks and great care is considered during engne start up before taxing out for take-off but not everything can be accounted for. Landing is always hard on the aircraft. In all reality, however, it just depends on what type of malfunction you are referring to. Icing is usually a problem during higher altitude cruises.

  16. As most people have stated, its takeoff or landing.

  17. Either take-off or landing when the aircraft encounters a sudden downdraft.
