Question:

During what sleeping hours do kids grow?

I've heard that kids need around 7-8 hours of sleep, and that there is a period during those sleeping hours that is most effective in their growth spurt and when their height grows the most per se. What hours are most effective when it comes to growth in height for children? Any source provided will be much appreciated since it would be more reliable than a guess. Thanks in advance. 10 points for best answer!

  1. They need to go to sleep between the essential hours of 9:00pm and 2:00am. They need to be sound asleep. When you sleep your body is in a state of re-energizing itself and your body is recovering and as it recovers, your body also grows and becomes stronger, BUT you need to be sleep and you need to let your body get full rest. Now where's my 10 points...lol kidding.

  2. Actually, most children need MORE than 8 hours of sleep. I've heard that a good nights sleep does help with growth, but I'm pretty sure it's not so much as what time or hour that is the best rather than that they get the whole nights' sleep uuninterrupted Preschoolers need 10 to 12 hours of sleep while school-aged children need about 10 hours of sleep. Teenagers need between 8 to 9 1/2 hours of sleep. If you don't get an uninterrupted nights' sleep, then you might not go into the deep sleep needed to recharge for the next day.

  3. all of them AND they grow while awake, too!!
