Dusshera favourite for Hamlet Oak Framed Buildings Maiden Hunters´ Chase
Dusshera is rated as favourite for the Hamlet Oak Framed Buildings Maiden Hunters´ Chase (for the Cuckoo Maiden Challenge Cup) at Folkestone in England on Thursday, May 17, 2012. A cash prize of £1,153 has been set for the winner of the class-6 event.
A total of 10 runners have been attracted towards the race, which is scheduled to start at 18:50 GMT, and their names are as follows: Commander Kev, Dusshera, Durante, Righteous Glory, Topthorn, Ilikehimmac, Bigasabishop, San Siro, Saddlers Melody and Tobougg
Welcome.
Out of the above mentioned runners, San Siro might miss out on the action today. He could have fought for victory in the race, as he has a decent record at the amateur level.
The going will be good and the overall distance to cover for all participants will be 2 miles and 5 furlongs. This means that early pace will not matter much in the event and the one with the best stamina will finish on top of the table.
Looking at the recent form of Dusshera, the bookies have awarded her with the best odds. However, she has never won any event until now, which will discourage the punters from risking money on her.
The seven-year-old mare has participated in three races so far, but has not managed to win any of them. However, she has finished amongst the top three on a couple of occasions, which shows that she has the potential to take the top spot today.
The P. York’s trainee ended up fourth in her first ever race, but improved her performances afterwards. She has a solid chance of bringing up her maiden victory at Folkestone, but will need to be at her best in order to do so.
Dusshera finished runner up in her most recent run, which shows that she is carrying good momentum at the moment. However, she was expected to win that event, as the bookies had awarded her with the best odds. She will be partnered by Mr P. York, who is
relatively new to the sport and does not have a lot of experience.
Other than the race favourite, Commander Kev might also manage to make an impression in the race.
