Dust And Diamonds eyes on Breeders´ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint title
Since the very beginning of this season, Dust And Diamonds has been at the top of her game. She had been the convincing winner in each of her last three starts. Moreover, she has always performed well over fast grounds.
Keeping in view these factors, the Steven Asmussen trained bay and brown filly seems to be the strongest candidate for today’s high-voltage contest of the Breeders´ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (Grade 1) (3yo+ Fillies & Mares) that will go down at Santa Anita
racecourse.
As the £348,387 race is set to be run over the fast track of 7 furlongs, Dust And Diamonds has an ideal chance to win it. The entire situation goes to her favour.
The four-year-old veteran filly is lined-up against nine rivals that include some big guns like Groupie Doll, Rumor, Turbulent Descent and Musical Romance.
In compare with all these, the young and energetic filly possesses more form and familiarity with the surface she has to run over.
Moreover, the American sprinter had a lot of workout during the last month. Her trainer has left no stone unturned to prepare her for this mega challenge.
Dust And Diamonds’ glorious stats speak volumes of her skills. Debuting in September 2010, she finished third in each of her first four starts till January 2012.
The talented daughter of Vindication out of Majestically broke her maiden with the ace title of the Allowance Optional Claimer (Dirt) (Fillies & Mares) on March 24. That race took place at OaklAWn park. She beat Someplace Else by 4 ½ lengths.
The Padua Stables bred filly moved ahead to win the Dashing Beauty Stakes (Dirt) (Fillies & Mares) at the same venue on July 21. This time, she outplayed Giant Sensation with the huge margin of 5 ¾ lengths.
The brilliant runner beautifully completed her hat-trick by winning Gallant Bloom Handicap (Grade 2) (Fillies & Mares) (Dirt) at Belmont Park on September 22.
All of the three were superb performances, and each race went over a fast track. The filly is keen to extend her unbeaten record by winning today’s contest as well. Good luck to her.
