Dust Whirl vying to win Maiden Stakes
Dust Whirl is vying to clinch top spot in the Stratford Place Stud For International Group 1 Winners EBF Maiden Stakes that will go down at York racecourse today, May 17. The Class 3 contest over a distance of 6 furlongs is scheduled to start at 4:10 (GMT).
For the prize money of £7,763, the Richard Hannon-trained bay colt will show his guts against 13 competitors such as Artigiano, Birdy Boy, Bispham Green, Funk Soul Brother, Glory Awaits, If You Can, Kalicamix, Newstead Abbey, Red Paladin, Skytrain, Star
Of Rohm, Unidexter and Wynyard Boy.
Dust Whirl has delivered outstanding performances in his only two races so far. After starting his career with a 3rd spot against 10 contestants on April 20, 2012, the two-year-old novice runner moved on to grab a runner-up rank while running
against 10 rivals in the very next start on May 5.
Thus, the brilliant son of Bahamian Bounty out of Dust has exposed his inherent racing skills well. At the moment, the talented sprinter is awash with fighting spirit that will lend a great hand to him in the coming contest.
If Dust Whirl runs to his best, his chances to finish first in the Maiden Stakes will be as high as 90 percent.
Among the other runners, Unidexter and Bispham Green are likely to do well today.
Unidexter grabbed 5th position against 7 runners in the only race of his career on May 7, 2012. This impressive performance by the trainee of Mick Channon boosted up his morale to a great extent. He looks to be confident enough to make a big impact
in the race.
On the other hand, Bispham Green nicely grabbed 6th position against 10 rivals in his first and last start on May 5, 2012. The Richard Fahey-trained bay colt can give a tough time to the hot favourite runner.
Come what may, success seems to be leaning towards Dust Whirl. However, there will be an awe-inspiring competition in the Stakes. Let us watch a fabulous action. Good luck to all the contestants.
