Dustin Johnson eager for Ballantine''s Championship – Golf update
American golfer, Dustin Johnson, is eager for the Ballantine's Championship which is scheduled to take place this coming weekend in Korea. The player known for his big-hitting putts is taking his trip to Asia very seriously. Johnson wants to make use of his special talent and hence come back to the States with a victory on the European Tour.
The player said that he was here to win a tournament. He also said that he wants to at least be in contention to win and even though he is known for long putts, Johnson said there are other aspects to his game. The player knows that the European players are used to playing in foreign conditions. Seeing how most of the American players prefer to play in the States, Johnson said that they could learn from their example.
"It's important to get out and play," said Johnson."Obviously the European players are more traveled; they play more events in Asia and also in the States. We get comfortable playing on our tour, but you can't blame us. I think it's the best tour -- a lot of people do. It’s hard to get the guys to come over here to play but it's important for us to come over and play a few times a year to acknowledge our overseas fans."
Dustin Johnson’s game has really improved this year as the player is working hard and has been hitting well. Johnson came in second place at the Cadillac Championship and tied for third at the Farmers Insurance Open and tied for ninth at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. All these are really good finishes and show how much improvement he is making.
No doubt he is a skilled golfer, but Johnson will really need to step up his game in Korea. The Ballantine's Championship field will feature some of the most talented players of the European Tour. The new World Number one, Lee Westwood, is the favorite for the coming tournament. Along with Westwood, Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter and Miguel Angel Jimenez will also be playing. The three-time major champion and hall of famer, Ernie Els, will also tee-off in Korea this coming weekend.
