http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482’s hat-trick sealed an impressive win over Ron Jans’ men.
In round-29 of the Dutch top tier, Ajax Amsterdam recorded an impressive 5-0 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 at Abe Lenstra Stadion on Wednesday, April 11.
The home side commenced proceedings in a disastrous fashion as their goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brian-Vandenbussche-c8073, received his marching orders in the third minute for a foul on Siem de Jong inside the box.
Theo Janssen coolly converted the resulting spot-kick to make the score-line 1-0. Things went from bad to worse for the hosts in the 19th minute when Ismail Aissati doubled his side’s advantage. The 23-year-old midfielder pounced on a loose ball
at the left flank and skipped past a defender to before unleashing a powerful shot that found the top corner of the net.
Jody Lukoki then had an opportunity to extend his side’s lead, but his effort failed to trouble the substitute goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kristoffer-Nordfeldt-c21435.
However, the Amsterdammers did make it 3-0 shortly with De Jong adding his name to the score-sheet. Janssen set up http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 at the edge of the box, and the Danish International laid it off for the midfielder-c*m-striker, who made no mistake in drilling
home.
The Amsterdam giants were in total control and the home side had no answer to their impressive play. Moments before the half-time whistle, De Jong doubled his tally to make the score-line 4-0.
After the half-time break, the defending Dutch champions continued to assert their authority and outclassed the Friesland outfit in every department. Despite creating couple of good opportunities, De Jong failed to hit the target.
However, the attacking midfielder did complete his hat-trick in the 63rd minute. Nordfeldt misjudged Daley Blind’s cross inside the penalty area that left the 23-year-old with easiest of finishes.
The visiting side had more chances to extend their lead, but De Jong’s strike hit the post while Kolbeinn Sigthorsson’s header bounced off the crossbar, before the referee blew the final whistle to end proceedings.
All three points ensured that Ajax move three points clear at the summit of the table while Heerenveen remain unmoved sixth on the table, seven points behind the table-toppers.
Heerenveen will lock horns against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen while Ajax will battle against De Graafschap in their upcoming Eredivisie encounters on April 14 and April 15 respectively.
