http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Kolk-c32507’s brace coupled with Kees Luijckx and Eric Botteghin’s strikes sealed a comfortable win for NAC over Maurice Steijn’s men.
On match-day 23, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 at Rat Verlegh Stadion on Saturday, February 25.
The Breda outfit entered the match on the back of some poor displays, having failed to find the back of the net in their last three Eredivisie encounters. However, they managed to end their goal drought following a thumping win over ADO.
The home side started the match in a lively manner and mounted pressure on the visiting side. Their quick movement upfront rewarded them in the sixth minute when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbert-Schilder-c31211 corner.
Five minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kees-Luijckx-c20502. Anthony Lurling’s pass found Kolk on the left flank, and he raced into the area before playing the ball to Luijckx to tap home with ease.
With two goals in quick succession, the home side comfortably controlled the game and enjoyed a large share of ball possession though they failed to create anything of note in the remaining action of the first-half.
After the half-time break, the visiting side resumed proceedings aggressively and could have pulled one back in the 47th minute. Stanley Elbers found John Verhoek at the edge of the box, but the young striker’s effort sailed over the crossbar, much to the
dismay of Maurice Steijn.
Moments later, the on-loan Stade Rennes striker went on to send another effort over the bar after receiving a pass from Elbers and the missed opportunities penalised them afterwards.
The home side regained their momentum and started to assert their authority as the match progressed. They added a third in the 64th minute through Kolk. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeffrey-Sarpong-c18270 sent a neat pass inside the box for Kolk, who made no mistake in hitting the
back of the net.
Schilder created enough space for himself to try his luck from outside the penalty area. However, he saw his effort crash off the crossbar before going out for a goalkick. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Schalk’s effort from range rattled the post, as the visiting side continued to
live dangerously.
The consistent pressure paid the hosts with another goal in the injury time when Eric Botteghin found the back of the net from close range to seal a convincing 4-0 victory.
The win helped NAC move three points clear of the danger zone at the 14th place in the Eredivisie table while ADO move one place down to occupy the 15th spot.
