Vitesse Arnhem came back from behind to claim a 1-1 draw against Heracles Almelo at GelreDome Stadion on Saturday, September 22.
The home side got off to a poor start, as the Heraclieden consistently threatened the Arnhem outfit’s defence. However, the visiting side lacked incisiveness upfront, and failed to capitalise on the hosts’ defensive errors.
After a goalless first-half, the Heraclieden resumed proceedings brightly after the half-time break, and grabbed the lead in the 48th minute through Ninos Gouriye.
The Arnhem outfit searched for the equaliser, and staged an impressive show after conceding a goal early in the second-half. However, they failed to restore parity until the 73rd minute.
Mike te Wierik brought down http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-van-Ginkel-c23758 inside the penalty area, and the referee pointed towards the spot without any hesitation. Wilfried Bony stepped up to take the resulting spot kick, and slotted home comfortably to level the score-line to secure
a point for his side.
Vitesse remain unmoved second on the league table, while Heracles occupies 13th spot after bagging a point.
