Six games to go before the end of the 2011/12 season; Ajax are leading the table with a solitary point but Twente are not too far behind.
The 2010/11 season ended in a dramatic manner. PSV Eindhoven occupied the top spot for many a month. However, Ajax Amsterdam and FC Twente Enschede were the two sides battling it for the Eredivisie title on the final day of the season. The Amsterdam giants
managed to claim a 3-1 win over the Tukkers and with it their 30th title as well.
After such a competitive season, nobody in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 would have dared to dream for a more competitive 2011/12 season. With six matches left to play in the season, any of the top six clubs in the table can be crowned champions in May.
Ajax are sitting at the summit of the table with 58 points to their name, but third placed FC Twente are trailing the table-toppers by mere three points.
The momentum is undoubtedly with the Amsterdammers, as they have not dropped a single point in their last eight Eredivisie fixtures. However, the second placed AZ Alkmaar, who lost the top spot to the defending Dutch champions recently, are trailing the
leaders by a point.
Bettor.com takes a glance at the remaining matches of the top three Eredivisie sides and their title aspirations.
Ajax Amsterdam
In February, Ajax stood sixth and were struggling to achieve consistent results. However, Frank de Boer turned the tide with his magic wand to lift them up to the summit of the table. With nine wins in a row, they are certainly the favourites to finish as
the champions yet again.

AZ Alkmaar
Gertjan Verbeek’s side seemed destined to lift the Eredivisie title at the end of the season after remaining at the summit of the table for a long time. However, their erratic showings in the last seven games saw them gift the top spot to the reigning Eredivisie
champions.
Nonetheless, being just a single point behind the leaders, they still have a good chance to snatch the top spot in the remaining weeks, though they have a pretty tough schedule ahead.

After Co Adriaanse failed to lead the Tukkers to success, Steve McClaren was brought back to De Grolsch Veste by Joop Munsterman, the club chairman. Despite achieving good results upon his arrival, the Englishman’s side has faltered in the last five games,
claiming seven points from 15 on offer. Although the Tukkers’ chances of landing silverware look bleak, their destiny lies largely in their own hands.
