Dutch Sprinter Theo Bos made his third appearance at the one-day cycling race, Scheldeprijs
Theo Bos had to face the disappointment for the third consecutive season as he failed to match the likes of Marcel Kittel of Team Argos-Shimano and Tyler Farrar of Team Garmin-Barracuda at the Scheldeprijs.
The duo claimed the first and the second positions while Bos finished at the third spot. Romain Feillu of Team Vacansoleil-DCM and Manuel Belletti of Team AG2R finished at the fifth position.
The Dutch professional cyclist made his professional debut with Team Rabobank in 2009 and penned a deal with Team Cervelo for the 2010 season.
He accepted an offer from Team Rabobank in 2011 and is currently representing the team for the second consecutive season.
Theo rode exceptionally well in the past season and bagged two stages at the Tour of Oman and one stage at the Dutch Food Valley Classic 2011.
The cyclist also finished first during the Tour de Rijke and the Dutch Food Valley Classic 2011.
Bos has filled his pockets with as many as 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the UCI World Championships, including a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
He came close to winning the 2012 version of the Scheldeprijs but was denied the victory by Marcel Kittel and Tyler Farrar.
Theo briefed, "I wanted to react on Farrar his move but I was just a little too late for that. Then he fell back slightly so I think I came back on him".
"I think that as a team we got the most out of it, even though I would love to see it end differently," he concluded.
"I was riding on a very big gear. I was on the 11 [cog] but that was too big, especially with that coldness on the legs. I didn't have enough power. I still have to work on my sprint. I'm well aware of that".
The 28-year-old will now be seen in action at the Tour of Romandie and might also try his legs at the Giro d’ Italia.
Theo will be accompanied by his team-mate Mark Renshaw at the coming races.
The Australian finished the race at the 24th position and is looking ahead to help the team in the coming events of the season.
