I have a Dutch passport and an American passport since I am a dual citizen b/c my father lives in US but is still a Dutch citizen. Is this enough for me to get education and employment? 1. There is nothing that you need to do. You can either look online at the universities you are interested in and apply from the U.S. or you can simply just purchase a plane ticket and go there, then apply to universities. The choice is yours.

You hold dual citizenship, one of them being Dutch, you do not require a visa to enter your own country. You may travel there with just your plane ticket and Dutch passport. You also have the right to seek employment from the moment that you step off of the plane.

The only real issue you face, is decided which universities to apply to and how you would like to apply to them; would you rather play it safe, apply from the U.S. and wait for their decision or take the plunge, fly there and then apply and wait on the outcome of their decision, bare in mind what would you do if you were rejected and you where in the Netherlands; come home, continue working, apply to other schools?

Either way, the best of luck to you.
