  1. The cleaners basically collect items left behind and insure toilets and such are up to standard.  They may do more dependent on the air craft schedule like replacing on board magazines.  As to the wage I can only help if I know where you are because it's very location dependent.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Cleaners take care of the interior and sometimes exterior of the aircraft. Inside would be cleaning all the seats and under the cushions and wiping most everything down, lavatory, cockpit and vacuum everywhere. Outside is cleaning the windshield, and sometimes spot cleaning like wheels or areas that collect exhaust soot. Polishing bare metal surfaces ( leading edges) and sometimes waxing are performed, but not as often as a regular cleaning. And don't forget servicing the water tanks and blue juice for the toilet. May also clean hangar area if you are at a hangar. Pay depends kind of like it does for mechanics. The majors pay better than regionals. I'm with a regional and I think they start around $8/hr, but not sure. Its not a lot, but you're not doing anything complicated either..

  3. well i know u have to CLEAN it

  4. In addition to the fine comments already made; I will add a couple slightly off-topic.

I worked as a line boy at a medium-sized international airport. I worked mostly with GA. On weekends lots of times we had teenagers out on the ramp cleaning, waxing, polishing like crazy. They made great money doing it. This was around 1976, and for a small plane like a C-172 they would make maybe $120. This was waxing and buffing too. They would work together as a team. There is a lot of work to do there!

As for cleaning the interiors, lots of corporate planes, small jets, etc were serviced by us. Lots of 6-12 passenger turbo-props, Turbo Commanders, etc. One thing we did whether we fueled it or not was to empty the trash, pick up litter, get fresh ice in the ice compartment, clean the coffee pots and re-fill them. We always cleaned the windshields with mirror-glaze. I always seemed to have some ground into my hands.

  5. They clean the vomit and old gum in the lane.

They are usually paid by the pound of waste material removed.
