Question:

Duty free Regulations in Canada?

Next week I'm going to go to the US and Toronto for 8 days and I want to buy some smoke from duty free shops in Toronto. I want to ask if kids are allowed to buy cigarettes in Canada. Because last year I heard on the news that The Government of Canada passed down a law allowing children to buy it.... and I want to know if this is true. Thx for your answers.

  1. Absolutely untrue. It's illegal to sell tobacco products of any kind to anyone under 18. The fines are severe so most retailers require photo id from anyone who "appears" to be under 30.
