Dvd burning question please help??`?

how come when i convert my movies that are in avi format to dvd format, only one movie increases in size to 4.7 gb and the average movie is 700 mb?

im asking this because i want to fit more movies in one dvd disc??

  1. Because of the way it transcodes them, it makes the film fill the disk. If, however, you choose to burn, say, two films to one disk, the films will still fill up the whole disk, and each will be roughly half the size (Data-wise). I use Nero and it does this, though not sure about other software, just try adding more films to the one disk before you commence burning it and see if it works.
