    Warning: DVD based camcorders are the WORST possible video quality when it comes to camcorders... especially for editing. DO NOT BUY A DVD BASED CAMCORDER - if you already did, can you take it back?

    Next best video quality are still cameras that happen to take highly compressed video... then comes hard drive and some flash memory camcorders... BEST video quality is from miniDV tape based camcorders.
