NOTE: make sure that you have download itunes from Apple official website.

Step1:

how to add the movie from your PC?

Click the “file” of the menu on the right-top of the interface. And click “imput” from the pull-down bar. Then you can see

From here you can select your favorite movies from your PC.

Step2:

how to sync the movie to the ipod?

Double click on the left of the screen and list a pull-down menu

click and you can see

click “movie” button on the top, and you can see

Tick “Sync movie” and choose sync modes then select the movie in the list.

Click the button “Apply” on the right-bottom.

When it says “ipod sync is complete” on the top of the main screen, you can do the last step: click the button on the right-bottom

You can use Cucusoft DVD to iPod Video Suite to directly convert your own dvd or videos to ipod. It works great for me.

If you want a freeware, try handbrake. It's total free and converts DVD files, including protected DVD, to various video formats.Download here:

But I'd prefer using professional shareware. Freeware always has function limit, spyware something......

I use wondershare DVD to iPod ripper.It's not free, but I think it does worth the money well...run stably , powerful ripping function and never get your pc crashed.

Yes, there are some free software to convert the DVD to iPod formats. But I have tried most of them cannot well convert the suitable files. Besides the speed and the quality is quite poor.

So I have to choose some trial version, e.g. Pavtube DVD to iPod Converter, which freely rip DVD to iPod audio formats and     convert DVD to iPod video formats with a little watermark without any influence about the audio or video effect.
