Dvd drive is badly broken?

Question

yesterday my xbox 360 got two red lights and the dvd drive just ejected half way through playing GTA IV and disc was still spinning but nyways also the middle power botton is flashing green thats never happened before.

i pulled the dvd drive open and then had to shove it back closed and it wont read discs and wont open unless i pull it open with my hands

ALSO I HAVE NO WARRENTY AT ALL THE X360 IS ALL APART AND HAS BEEN APART FOR MONTHS

will a new dvd drive from ebay fit in and work? if so what make is best to get? thanks for the help

doesnt matter if its out of warranty, mine was out of warranty but they still fixed the RRoD for it and also replaced my dvd drive.

But as someones said on here, you can do it yorself.

Just google it like everyone else does

Yeah, definitely the thing overheated and don't know why it's acting like it is...but the problem with replacing the 360's drive is that they're all coded to work their particular motherboard in their 360...some people claim that you can just transfer the PCB from the broken unit to the new, but I'm not sure. it has over headed

phone up microsoft and tell them if it is warnity (1 year ) they will fix it

you tried taking all plugs out and plugging them back in? thres a glitch that happens sumetime that replugging stuff corrects
