Dvd dual layer

Question

I purchased my laptop several months ago and live in a remote location, not easy to get work done under warranty. My dvd player will not read a cd or dvd unless i restart the pc, when i remove it and try another one it still reads the previous dvd unless i restart the pc. I have tried everything with autoplay because i believe that autoplay has something to do with it but even that wont work
