Dvd not playing on my computer?

Question

My computer usually plays dvds normally and I dont have a problem with it.

But just now I rented "The eye" and its not playing.

It doesnt do anything, nothing shows up.

Anyone have an idea why its not working and how I can fix it?

do you know if this movie you rented has been burned from another disk? because sometimes if they have been burnt over and over through many disks, they dont work..

OR

is there dust on the cd? you should wipe that off.. it may not read..

OR

there could be a scratch makng your computer not be able to read it...

other than that.. i have no idea.

if you have a dvd player, or some other computer you could put it in to try it.. its probably just the cd, not your computer.

may be the disk is too damaged..or if its a kind of divx something and if you dont have the latest player,this problem arises..
