Question:

Dvd recorder and spots on tv screen in L2/recorder mode...pls help?

Hi,

I have just started to experience a distorted picture when using the TV and DVD recorder.( lots of black spots, almost like dotted contours, which seem to move around the people on screen, particularly where there are shadows etc.

No connections have been altered, but when wanting to record I select L2 on my dvd handset, then use the freeview control to select the channel to watch/record multiple and the black dots surround the images on screen. If I record a programme, it looks as though these dots are being recorded too, but on taking the disc out and inserting it in another player, the picture is perfect on that which has been recorded, but playing it back on the recorder the dots are still there.

Has anyone got any clues as to how I may solve this?

Thanks

  1. The Scart lead may indeed have something to do with it. The pins are easy to knock out of enlightment when swapping components. Try a different lead, but make sure that all pins are connected - it should say so on the packaging if you buy a new one.

  2. The closest thing that i ave ever experinced in that problem was a pic or shadow on a blank channel or on L2 (before turning on freeview box). This was resolved by a new scart lead as the old must ave been a cheap one or just went faulty.
