I want to buy a DVD player/recorder. but my TV is 12 years old. Can I use a Digital Recorder as well as an analogue recorder?

  1. Check the video inlet.outlet sucket at the back of your TV set, it may likely be 21-pin scart. With the information, look for DVD Player/Recorder and specifically mention type of inlet/outlet  at back of TV when shopping. The shop should be able to advice on what's best for your TV based on the TV inlet/oulet sucket.


  2. Yes you can.

  3. Most new DVD Recorders are Digital or Freeview so you can record any Freeview channel or watch a Freeview channel on your TV. But unless the DVD Recorder has two tuners you cannot watch one Freeview channel and record another.

    You will need a SCART connector on your TV to connect the DVD Recorder.
