  1. You can drag and drop 4.7gb of data onto the disk but when you burn its abit different for example burning a video of 120 mins

  2. You must have recorded to it using a closed session. No more data can be written to the disk. If it is rewritable you can erase it and write it again.

If you have written using a multisession you must append the session using the same application again eg Nero.

  3. If you want to write new files to an RW disk, you first have to erase everything on that disk first... Disk burning programs are defaulted to adding stuff on and then finalizing it. Or, this may not even be an RW disk. If it says 1 gb and it cannot write, then it is probably a one time write(R). Check the labeling again and if it still says RW, email me and I will try to help.

  4. you must have discontinued multisession (means it automatically prohibits recording any more data the next time) when you first burnt you dvd, format it and then write your data again but this time allowing multisession see the options

  5. You`ll have to format it.

  6. you have closed writing session, when you did it, media cant take more

erase it and get your 4.7 gb back

by the way, do not forget to do the following calculations: (4.7*1000*1000)/(1024*1024) - you could write only about 4.5 real Gb, not marketing 4.7 Gb
