you need a third party program to help you to rip dvd to zune wmv/mp4 video format first.

Zune only supports the follow video formats:

Windows Media Video (.wmv)

MPEG4 video (m4v, .mp4, or .mov)

H.264 video (.m4v, .mp4, or .mov)

First ,you need  dvd converter to help you to convert your movies to to Zune WMV,  MP4, MPEG4 video files.
