I have a DVD player and I tv that I have to hook up and I can't get it to work. On the tv there are three holes, a red, a yellow, and a white. On the dvd player there are like a thousand holes of all different colors. I have lots of color cordinated wires for multiple electronics, but which colors should I use, I mostly only have red, yellow, and white wires. When I think I have it hooked up, I don't know how to change from cable to the dvd player. thanks.

  1. Just use the yellow (video out) and red, white (audio out) on the DVD player.  That should work fine.   Just use one yellow, red, white cable.  Disregard the other connectors on the DVD.

  2. The guy above this post is correct. just hood the yellow, red, and white cables in to their matching colored holes. When you are doing this you want to make sure that the ones plugged into the DVD player are the Output holes. Once you have that connected you may have to change you tv's input. You should have a button on your remote that says input. So turn the DVD player on and search through the Tv's inputs untill you see the picture.

Make sure that the yellow plug is plugged into the yellow jacks on each end. This is your video cable and you will have no picture inless this is correct.

The other 2 colors are you sound cables and they really do not matter if they right or not.

if you have any more questions or you cannot make this work, you can emial me and I will walk you through it step by step.
