Dvd's keep freezing

Question

I have an Alba Dvd player which freezes someway into a film. If I start the dvd again it will freeze at the same point. I also cannot f/f past this point or skip chapters. I can however play the same dvd on a playstation or similar with no problem. I have tried cleaning the dvd's....no difference. I purchased this one as my previous player kept jumping and freezing also. Any help would be appreciated.
